The TKY Power Story

Philip Puttergill bought Transkei Yamaha in Mthatha from Steven Dold in 2006. In 2010, the opportunity arose in East London to open a STIHL dealership and so TKY Power Products was created. Followed by the purchase of Leisure Yamaha in 2011, TKY was then able to offer Yamaha Marine and Motorcycle products with the line of Yamaha Power Products they already had. This also allowed TKY to move to a better and bigger location in Beacon Bay.

In keeping pace with their growth, TKY then bought over 4X4 Mega World in November 2012 which allowed them to offer and fit all the well-known 4X4 accessories and aftermarket upgrades. In 2019, they had outgrown the premises in Beacon Bay and moved to a newly renovated and much larger premises in Meises Halt (Quenera North), which is where you can find them today.

In 2023, Branson Bowman-Edgar bought into TKY Power Products and brought a wave of change to the store. He is also the current owner of Transkei Yamaha.
